Subject Pronoun Contractions
These tables show you all the short forms of subject pronouns followed by ‘be’ and ‘have’.

Subject pronoun + be
We can only use the short form of a subject pronoun with the present forms of ‘be’ (‘am’, ‘is’, ‘are’). We can’t use the short form when using ‘be’ in the past (‘was’, ‘were’).
Subject pronoun + have
We can use the short form of a subject pronoun with have in the present and the past forms.
